The actress was speaking at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday night, where she was joined by Marai Larasi, the executive director of Imkaan, when she was asked about whether there would be a follow-up.

Emma admitted that she was a ‘bit terrified’ at the event before presenting an award.

‘I’m intrigued to see where the storyline goes after the Beast transforms. Anything could happen,’ she said when asked about the sequel.

Emma Watson has acknowledged her white privilege in an open letter about race and feminism.

The Harry Potter actress was criticised back in 2015 for her ‘white feminism’ following her HeForShe speech at the United Nations.

After a fan asked her if she was a white feminist, Emma said: ‘White feminism implies an exclusion of black women from the movement which I find surprising because my bosses (and the people who gave me my job) are two black women’ – leading intersectional feminists to remind her that knowing black people doesn’t mean you’re not involved… Read the full story

Rupert Grint recalls ‘hardcore’ Harry Potter fans as franchise lives on

Seven years after the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, hit screens, Harry Potter fans – or rather, Potterheads – are still thriving, according to Rupert Grint.

The actor, who is eagerly awaiting the release of the second season of his series Snatch, opened up on how even to this day he’s still accosted on the street by ‘passionate’ fans who want a piece of Ron Weasley himself.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk while on the set of the Sony Crackle series in Spain, based on the film of the same name by Guy Ritchie, Rupert, 30, admitted he still isn’t able to go under the radar when out in public.

With co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson (Picture: WireImage)

‘[Harry Potter] fans are different in every country, but here they’re quite hardcore, they’re…passionate,’ he told us with a smirk.

‘They’re very emotional and it’s quite sweet. In London they just want a picture and then they’re gone but here [in Spain] it’s interesting.’

He said it’s easier to go under the radar while he stayed in Spain during filming, but he added of local fans: ‘They want a conversation and a bit of a chat. More of an interaction, which is quite nice.’

Grint has come a long way since his days as the lovable and floppy-haired Ron Weasley, compadre to Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe, and wifey Hermione Granger, brought to life by Emma Watson.

In this crime-comedy tale, however, he plays aristocratic Charlie Cavendish alongside the likes of Luke Pasqualino and Dougray Scott, which is now taking on its second season.

SNATCH - SEASON 2 - GALLERY

When he meets Metro.co.uk, he’s sporting a three-piece suit and red, love-heart-shaped sunglasses borrowed from his sister as he sits in a slightly dilapidated Spanish villa – the characters are holed up in the pile as they attempt to capture ‘goons’ after fleeing to the Spanish island of Malaga with a whole bunch of money stolen back in London at the end of season one.

Opening up on his character, who brings the comedic chops to the forefront, the actor said: ‘Charlie has grown up quite a lot and he’s getting a thirst, a power-hunger thing, he wants to lead, he doesn’t want to be number two anymore.

‘He’s cut down on the recreational drugs. He’s not a natural gangster but there are a few crazy situations he gets himself into, and stunts.’

Like what?

‘Running, which I do consider a stunt. Especially in a three-piece suit.’

There were rumours Rupert based Charlie on Prince Harry, however he was quick to rebut the claim, saying his character isn’t anything like the Party Prince…anymore.

‘I don’t think I’d ever admit that [to Harry], I think he’s turned into something a bit different now,’ he said. ‘That was my initial inspiration but there is very little Prince Harry in Charlie now.’

Now the fresh 30-year-old might admit to a total lack of alcohol tolerance, but he’s replaced his partying days with a new appreciation of the entertainment industry, keen to try out new things in his career.

The guy serves as a producer in Snatch, and hints at more work behind the camera.

‘I think it’s an interesting perspective I’ve never had before,’ he added. ‘In this it’s been relaxed…it’s nice to have that opportunity to be involved more. And I’d love to do that more, definitely.’

Snatch season 2 premieres on AMC 9 October at 9pm.

JK Rowling is loving the Harry Potter theories right now, confirms another one

$

Everyone loves a Harry Potter theory (Picture: AP Photo/Warner Bros.Pictures)

If you have any Harry Potter theories, just start throwing them out at JK Rowling, because she is in the mood to confirm those that are correct.

After agreeing with a theory that Dumbledore was indeed Death after one feisty fan put two and two together in regards to the Tale of Three Brothers, she’s now wading into another long-held fan theory – an idea about Hermione Granger.

In The Goblet of Fire, the fourth book in the series, when Viktor Krum comes onto the scene, Rowling writes about how the guy is pronouncing the bookish Hermione’s name wrong – making a pretty obvious explanation of just how he is saying it incorrectly.

Vik says her name like ‘her-my-own’, when of course we now know it is pronounced ‘her-my-knee’. Well, NOW we know that.

One Twitter user had been pondering this long and hard and decided to hit JK up about it, and the author was more than happy to oblige in a confirmation.

They wrote: ‘Theory: @jk_rowling included that passage on how to pronounce Hermione’s name in Goblet of Fire just to school all of us who were saying HER-MY-OWN like Viktor Krum.’

Many others immediately jumped on board this theory with their whole being and shared their own versions of how they said Hermione’s name.

One said: ‘I used to call Hermione “Herm-a-jean” because there was another character in the book I read right before that with a hard-for-10y-me-to-pronounce name called Irmagean and I was lazy.’

Another added: ‘Hands up if this was you, too.

‘I’m embarrassed it took three and a half books to learn that pronunciation. Like many others, I had never seen the name Hermione before in my life. Definitely pronounced it HER-ME-OWN in my head for far too long (until @jk_rowling gave it to us).’

However, one admitted it was Oprah that taught them the correct way, as Oprah is oft full of wise and sage advice.

And Rowling noticed the hoo-haa, not giving too much away but confirming all the same this stellar theory with the simple message: ‘Theory correct.’

And, really, when it comes to the pronunciation of words, you have to admit Hermione would be pretty proud this one was cleared up nice and early.

It comes after Rupert Grint opened up to Metro.co.uk about how Harry Potter superfans were still super ‘passionate’ when they spot him on the street, over seven years after the last film was released.

The man who played Ron Weasley said: ‘[Harry Potter] fans are different in every country, but here they’re quite hardcore, they’re…passionate.

‘They’re very emotional and it’s quite sweet. In London they just want a picture and then they’re gone but here [in Spain] it’s interesting.’

He said it’s easier to go under the radar while he stayed in Spain during filming of latest show Snatch, but he added of local fans: ‘They want a conversation and a bit of a chat. More of an interaction, which is quite nice.’

Emma Watson has stood up for transgender rights in a pretty badass new social media post.

The Harry Potter actress showed her support for the rights of all transgender people by wearing a t-shirt that we’re going to need ten of, stat.

Emma, 28, wore a white t-shirt reading: ‘Trans rights are human rights’ – and we couldn’t agree more.

The star flexed her biceps in the snap, which she shared to both Twitter and Instagram.

Instagram Photo

Emma tagged Stonewall UK, Mermaids – the organisation supporting transgender young people – and non-profit organisations All About Trans and Gender Intelligence.

And people from within the trans community were touched by Emma’s show of LGBTQ+ allyship.

Journalist Paris Lees replied: ‘Thank you for speaking up, so many families struggling at the moment don’t have a voice. We love you!’, while Jack Monroe tweeted: ‘THANKYOU X.’

Others piled in with thank you messages, while one follower wrote: ‘Thank you for doing this. It means a lot to our community as so few people are speaking up for us as we are persecuted.’

Emma’s post comes the day before the consultation for the government’s reform of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 (GRA) will close.

This review presents the opportunity to introduce a self-identification system by which trans people would be able to legally change their gender, an approach implemented in countries like Belgium, Norway and Denmark.

Emma has frequently and publicly supported LGBTQ+ rights, recently writing about LGBT History Month on Instagram.

The Beauty and The Beast star wrote: ‘It’s 🏳️‍🌈 LGBT History Month in the USA. I have learned so much about feminism and anti-racism through the work of LGBTQIA+ activists. Thank you Sylvia Rivera, Audre Lorde and Marsha P. Johnson!! Sending love to all those I love and wider LGBTQIA+ communities around the world.’

Emma is also a prominent women’s rights campaigner, having spearheaded the HeForShe campaign for feminism.

Speaking at the UN in 2014, she said: ‘If we stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by what we are — we can all be freer and this is what HeForShe is about. It’s about freedom.’
