Claire Foy has been spotted looking as regal as ever as she rocked up to the launch of the 2020 Pirelli Calendar, Looking For Juliet.
She’s definitely still a queen to us.
The star, who stole everyone’s hearts as Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of The Crown, looked stunning as she rocked a gold number to the launch.
Whoopi Goldberg, Mia Goth, and Yara Shahidi were also among the stars celebrating the launch, with the calendar featuring the likes of Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, singer Chris Lee, Spanish musician Rosalia, transgender and non-binary star Indya Moore and Franco-Italian artist Stella Roversi.
Shot in Paris and Verona in May, by Paolo Roversi, the stars have put their own spin on Juliet from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and it’s safe to say they’ve done it with style.
Kristen chose an androgynous look, rocking leather as she lounged on a table reading for her interpretation, while Claire wore feathers and went for a more traditional look with a bejewelled head crown.
The project aims to ‘take its cue from the Shakespearean drama and the intersection of love, strength, youth and beauty embodied by its female protagonist’.
In a behind the scenes video, Kristen previously said she is a ‘huge Juliet advocate’ as the fictional young woman was ‘a baller’.
‘I think to give yourself to someone fully is the strongest thing you can do. I am a huge Juliet advocate. I think she is a baller. There are Juliets absolutely everywhere, and also I think I am Romeo, I am Juliet,’ she said.
Whoopi also starred last year, when Edward Enniful took charge and produced a stunning Alice in Wonderland themed calendar, featuring only black stars.
‘Alice has been told so many times,’ photographer Tim Walker said. ‘And I think I wanted to go back to the genesis of the imagination behind Lewis Carroll so that you could tell it from the very beginning again. I wanted to find a different and original angle.’
